    General Summary:

     

    Primarily responsible for performing all functions that are required to provide technical support, service and repair for ZOLL IVTM (Intravascular Temperature Management) systems throughout the European region.  The service engineer must have total familiarity with ZOLL Quality Systems procedures pertaining to product service and will assure that these are followed accurately and in accordance with required timelines.

     

    The service location is based in Cologne Germany.  The successful candidate will be visiting customers' sites in the greater Germany area.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions:

     

    • Respond to requests from Sales Distributors and/or end-users for technical support. This will include both telephone support and hands-on troubleshooting and repair.
    • Perform Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of ZOLL IVTM systems at customer sites (e.g. hospitals) and ZOLL service centers as scheduled and on demand.
    • Provide technical training of ZOLL IVTM systems to staff of sales distributors and hospital biomedical engineers.
    • Provide training on installation and demonstrate operation of ZOLL IVTM systems to staff of sales distributors and hospitals.
    • Implement and document upgrades and/or modifications on the IVTM systems throughout the European region installed base.
    • Perform service related administrative functions.
    • Maintain Device History Files for European IVTM systems.
    • Work in accordance with all ISO related procedures, test methods and forms for the full range of IVTM Service Center activities.
    • Maintain optimal level of spare parts inventory in Europe to ensure customer satisfaction and system uptime.
    • Maintain Field Service related databases, and all service event documentation in compliance with ZOLL and local medical device reporting requirements.
    • Up to 80% European regional travel and other international travel may be required.

    Qualifications

    Skill Requirements:

     

    • Ability to utilize/develop tools including databases, spreadsheets, email or any other means available to effectively perform the required tasks.
    • Ability to professionally and calmly interact with all customers in various situations. To understand, assess and escalate customer problems to the ZOLL organization in a timely manner.
    • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills, mature interpersonal skills, self-motivated and problem solver. Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy in workmanship and documentation.
    • Demonstrated excellence in organization and time management skills. Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently and without the need for close daily supervision.
    • Positive attitude, responsible, dependable, reliable and dedicated.
    • Strong written and verbal skills and knowledge of standard Office computer applications, in German and in English.
    • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment under the direction of the European service manager.

     

    Education/Training/Experience Requirements:

     

    • Up to 4 years of electrical engineering and/or biomedical engineering education at the university level.
    • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the troubleshooting and repair of medical equipment.
    • A thorough understanding of ISO medical device quality system standards and requirements.
    • Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment and be able to prioritize workload to meet daily business requirements.
    • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and a customer-focused attitude.
