  • Overview

    General Summary:


    Oversee, maintain and support the company network environment.


    Essential Functions:


    • Establishes networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
    • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on the network optimization.
    • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
    • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
    • Reporting network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects
    • Software & Hardware installation, troubleshoot and end-user training.
    • Maintain Backups, Active Directory, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Routers, Switches, Desktops, Laptops and printers, NAS.
    • Install and maintain all common software and hardware.
    • Manage multiple vendor relationships including negotiating, pricing for hardware, selecting vendors, purchasing, ordering, tracking, and escalation procedures.
    • Plan, implement and manage corporate telecommunications and LAN/WAN systems to support Workstations and Servers.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

    • Work effectively with Vendors and Internal customers to resolve issues.
    • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

    • Maintains confidentiality.
    • Experience with VMWare.
    • Experience with Carbon Black End Point Protection is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Windows applications is required.
    • Proficiency with Juniper network switches is a plus.
    • Proficiency with ShoreTel 230 phone system.


    Education/Training/Experience Requirements:


    Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) with 5 years’ related experience.


    Language Ability:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.


    Math Ability:

    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.


    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


    Computer Skills:

    Working knowledge of desktop computer and software programs.


    Certificates and Licenses:

    Microsoft MCSE or equivalent preferred.

    • Windows servers and client OS; TCP/IP; DNS; WINS; POP/IMAP; FastEthernet; Gigabit Ethernet; T1/T3 Leased Data Lines; PRI/ISDN Leased Lines; IP Telephony; Voice Mail; Messaging; Microsoft Office; Microsoft Exchange; Microsoft Project; Active Directory; UNIX; Enterprise Switches and Routers; Remote Connectivity Software.
    • Experience in a Medical device environment preferred.
